Configure Thunderbird to Access the IMAP Quarantine

This topic shows how to configure our IMAP quarantine and training system

  1. If you are using the Spam Experts Hosted Cloud, use:
    • IMAP server: as the IMAP server
    • Username: as the username (replace with your own domain name)
    • Password: Use the password you have set for the domain user
  2. Open your account settings. Depending on whether you use Windows or Linux the menu item can be in a different location:
    1. Windows: Menu Extra > Account Settings
    2. Linux: Menu Edit > Preferences > Account Settings
  3. Click on Account Actions and pick the option Email Account.
  4. Enter your information
  5. Click on Stop while it is performing the auto-configuration.
  6. Change the POP3 option to IMAP and click on Advanced config
  7. In the server settings window, change the following fields:
    • Server Name:
    • Username: Your domain name (without the www.)
    • Port: 993
    • Optionally, if this isn't selected automatically, change Connection Security to SSL/TLS and set Authentication Method to Normal Password
    • Uncheck the Check for new messages on startup and Check for new messages every .. minutes

  8. On the Synchronization & Storage tab, uncheck the Keep messages for this account on this computer option.

You are now ready to use IMAP quarantine & training direct from your Thunderbird email client.
