Remote Monitoring & Management Help

Single Sign-On and Navigator

We have introduced two new features to both simplify logging into, and switching between our supported product suite.

With Single Sign-On you only need to one login to access multiple applications.

After signing in you can use the Navigator bar to easily switch between our supported products and whenever you choose an application you are automatically logged in.

Single Sign-On

Once your credentials are registered with the Single Sign-On service, a single login is used to access all of the supported products (the initial releases of Single Sign-On supports Remote Monitoring & Management and LOGICcards).

Single Sign-On has the following benefits:

  • Provides the user with full control over their login
  • Makes logging into multiple products much easier (as the user only has to remember one username and password)
  • Improves security as login credentials are only entered once in the Single Sign-On service, which leads to reduced exposure of usernames and passwords
  • Makes it easier to apply the company’s login policy as there is only one login to manage
  • Simplifies switching between products through the Navigator bar
  • Increases productivity as users spend less time attempting to login as well as potentially reduce the administrative burden of dealing with lost credential requests.
  • Encourages the use of more complex passwords as there is only one login to remember

Single Sign-on utilizes the leading industry standard for cross-platform authentication with all login requests passed through HTTPS using this protocol.

Dashboard User Management

The release of our Single Sign-On service (particularly February 2018's updated login system) introduced a new login method for users to access the supported products. This placed authentication fully in the user's hands, from creating their initial password, managing their credentials going forward and controlling their login's Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) settings.

Although the user is now responsible for their own authentication, the Dashboard administrator can ensure the company requirements are adhered to. From creating new users, assigning Client Groups and roles, setting up 2FA requirements at the user and global level, requesting users change their password or removing no longer required logins.

As the user controls their authentication settings, changes by the administrator may require an action by the user to apply. For example, if the 2FA requirement was enabled by the administrator then subsequently removed. The requirement to enter the Security Code will continue until the user disables 2FA for their login.

Please be aware that there may be a slight delay when amending credentials, including the use of the Forgot Password link, whilst these settings synchronize.

Note: Single Sign-On honors the user's Security settings (including Session Timeout, Two Factor Authentication and IP Address Restriction) from the General section, also available under the Settings menu and General Settings.

Dashboard Login

To access the Dashboard simply navigate to your normal URL, this will then redirect to the Single Sign-On service’s universal login page at where the user authentication takes place. This replaces the previous login page.

After successfully entering your credentials you are then directed back to your originally entered URL and Dashboard.

Please note that when accessing the Dashboard via the main website login page you may be prompted to only enter your username; with this used to determine which Dashboard territory your account is registered against. Once your territory is established you are directed to the Single Sign-On service’s universal login page with the username already populated from the first step.

Clarification: All users should continue to use their existing Dashboard URLs, they are only re-directed to during the Dashboard authentication process and once this is complete, returned to their original URL.

Important: Access

As Dashboard login attempts are re-directed to the Single Sign-On service for authentication, please ensure that all Dashboard users (both Staff and Client) can reach

Although you cannot use to access the Dashboard directly, when visiting this URL one of the below images should be displayed.

If neither are returned, it may be necessary to add to the white-list on any Firewall or Web/URL content filtering to ensure users can maintain Dashboard access.

Exit out of a Single Sign-On Session

To manually exit out of an active Single Sign-On session, and log out of all products, simply click on the username drop-down in the Navigator and choose Logout.

Please be aware that you are automatically logged out of a session when the Session Timeout period (configured in Settings, General Settings, Security) is exceeded.

In addition to containing the option to easily switch between supported products, the Navigator bar (displayed across the top of the Dashboard), can provide access to both support and LOGICcards information.

Please be aware that the availability of the Navigator bar options is dependent on your Dashboard account type and the configuration of your login. As such not all of the options referenced in this section are available to all users.

The user now has full control over their logins and can perform the following actions when clicking on their name in the navigator

navigator_product_switcher Product Switcher

The product switcher is used to quickly and easily navigate between products without logging in again. Simply click on the product selector then choose the product from the drop-down to open its dashboard in the current tab.

Tip: to open the prodigious dashboard in a new tab right-click on the product name and choose Open link in new tab (or equivalent).

By default, the product switcher is not displayed to users whose level of access is based on a Client role.

When selecting one of the currently unsupported products (Service Desk, Mail and MAX Backup) - or a supported product you do not have a Single Sign-On login setup for you are either directed to the prodigious main login screen to enter your credentials or to its trial signup page.

navigator_support Support Center

Open the Support Center (including the User Manual etc.), view the Dashboard and Agent Release Notes and display the Dashboard About information.

navigator_logiccards LOGICcards

LOGICcards is a notification system which uses a unique combination of data-driven insight and prescriptive analytics based on collective intelligence and machine learning to deliver real-time, actionable and targeted insights so you can quickly identify missing features, highlight security issues etc. LOGICcards automatically generates these notifications, learning with you to determine those types of message you deem as important and filtering out the notifications you ignore.

LOGICcards are not Client Group aware and display information for all Clients. To avoid exposure of Client information, where the user's role contains a Client Group (apart from All Clients), LOGICcards are hidden on their Dashboard.

View your currently logged in username or manually exit out of an active Single Sign-On session and log out of all products by clicking on the drop-down and choosing Logout.
