Remote Access (Take Control)

Where a problem is detected on a device we realize that the best way to investigate it may be to log-on to the server or workstation to see exactly what is going on  and we have provided three tools to achieve this.

  • Take Control (Windows and Mac) - enabled from the Dashboard and installed alongside the Agent, Take Control allows secure direct connection to any monitored Windows server or workstation or Mac workstation from the Dashboard without the need for VPNs or changes to the firewall settings.
  • Integrate With Existing TeamViewer Installations (Windows Only) - enabled from the Dashboard this options allows users to securely connect to Windows devices running TeamViewer directly from the Dashboard without the need for VPNs or changes to the firewall settings.
  • Remote Support Viewer and Agent (Windows only)- designed for attended access a Remote Support Agent is sent to the user, who can then can share their desktop without logging off and both users can use the computer at the same time*.
  • Please be aware that we no longer test or develop for the Remote Support Viewer and Agent and as such this feature is provided as is.

  • Alternative Remote Access (Remote Desktop) (Windows only)- can be used as a shortcut to access the remote machine via Terminal Services, VNC or Netsupport Manager. On a desktop or laptop where a user is currently logged on to the system this may not be possible or practical.

Dashboard user access to, and usage of these features is dependent upon the permissions associated with their role.
