Manually uninstall the Linux Agent

Red Hat Family

Command line

RPM (Red Hat Package Management)

    rpm -e rmmagent

YUM (YellowDog Updater, Modified)

    yum erase rmmagent

Graphical User Interface

  1. Log on to the target device
  2. Go to Applications
  3. Software (or Add/Remove Software)
  4. Enter the root password if prompted
  5. Search for rmmagent
  6. Untick the Advanced Monitoring Agent package or select Remove
  7. Apply Changes or Apply to initiate the uninstall process.

 

Suse Family

Command line - zypper

  1. Log on to the target device
  2. Open a command prompt
  3. Run the zypper remove command. Enter Y when prompted to confirm removal
  4. zypper remove rmmagent

Graphical User Interface - YaST

  1. YaST is started either from the menu under System or using the run command (Alt+F2) and typing yast
  2. Enter the root password when prompted to proceed
  3. Go to Software
  4. Select Software Management
  5. Search forrmmagent
  6. Right-click rmmagent
  7. Choose Delete
  8. Accept to apply
  9.  

Debian Family

Command line - APT

  1. Log on to the target device
  2. Open a command prompt
  3. Run the apt purge command to completely remove the Agent. Enter Y when prompted to confirm.
  4. apt-get --purge remove rmmagent

Graphical User Interface - Synaptic Package Management

  1. Log on to the target device
  2. Go to System
  3. Administration
  4. Synaptic Package Manager
  5. Enter the root password when prompted
  6. Select rmmagent
  7. Choose Mark for Removal or Mark for Complete Removal
  8. Apply to remove

Dashboard deletion or Agent Uninstalls are non-recoverable actions. Once confirmed, any information stored in relation to the Client, Site or Device(s) is instantly removed from the database and the data is unretrievable. Please verify the correct item is selected for removal before entering the password and confirming deletion.
