Enable Network Discovery Agents

Log into the Dashboard and activate the Network Discovery Agents for the network.

Global Settings

Enable Network Discovery Agents on all devices down to specific Clients and Sites.

  1. Go to Settings > Network Discovery Settings
  2. Select the device type (Servers or Workstations), Clients and Sites
  3. From Settings select On or Use Parent (where On)
  4. OK to save and apply

Individual device

To enable the Network Discovery Agents on specific devices. For example, on secure networks where access is restricted to certain devices.

  1. Go to the Servers or Workstations tab
  2. Right-click on the target device in the north pane
  3. Choose Edit Server or Edit Workstation
  4. Navigate to the Network Discovery section
  5. From Settings select On or Use Parent (if On)
  6. OK to save and apply

Once the Network Discovery Agents are enabled, the next step is to Place the Network under Management.

The Network Discovery Agents (used to scan the network) are available for Windows devices running Monitoring Agent 9.9.0 RC and later. For information on installing or updating the Monitoring Agent please visit Windows Monitoring Agent Installation or Update the Windows Monitoring Agent
