Disable Default Features

Patch Management, Take Control, Remote Background Management and Network Discovery are enabled by default on new accounts and are disabled from the Dashboard.

Patch Management

  1. Log into the Dashboard
  2. Go to Settings > Patch Management > Settings
  3. Select the Entity in the left tree (all Servers or Workstations down to individual Clients and Sites)
  4. Change Setting to Off
  5. OK to save and apply

Take Control

  1. Log into the Dashboard
  2. Go to Settings > Take Control > Settings
  3. Select the Entity in the left tree (all Servers or Workstations down to individual Clients and Sites)
  4. Change Setting to Off
  5. OK to save and apply

Remote Background Management

  1. Log into the Dashboard
  2. Go to Settings > Remote Background Settings
  3. Select the Entity in the left tree (all Servers or Workstations down to individual Clients and Sites)
  4. Change Setting to Off
  5. OK to save and apply

Network Discovery

Asset Tracking scans the local computer and uploads its asset inventory to the Dashboard. Network Discovery is used when you require information on all discoverable network attached devices (including printers, switches, mobile devices etc.). The Network Discovery settings below cover the deployment of the Discovery Agent alongside the Windows Monitoring Agent. However, network scans are only activated once the network is added in the Networks tab.

  1. Log into the Dashboard
  2. Go to Settings > Network Discovery
  3. Select the Entity in the left tree (all Servers or Workstations down to individual Clients and Sites)
  4. Change Setting to Off
  5. OK to save and apply
