Remote Monitoring & Management Help

Install, update and remove - Debian Family

There are a variety of methods to download, install and update the Linux Monitoring Agent including the Advanced Package Tool form the command line or Synaptic Package Management from the GUI.

But we suggest adding the rmmagent repository available from the following locations to manage these processes.

Each supported distribution and build has its own unique directory containing the relevant files and information for downloading, installing and updating the Linux Monitoring Agent:

http://repos.*/rmmagent/Debian_5.0/                +

http://repos.*/rmmagent/Debian_6.0/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/Debian_7.0/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/Debian_8.0/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_10.04/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_11.04/                +

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_11.10/                +

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_12.04/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_12.10/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_13.04/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_14.04/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_16.04/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_16.10/

http://repos.*/rmmagent/xUbuntu_17.04/

+ A package is available, but we no longer test or develop for these distributions and as such the Agent is provided as is.

If unsure of the device architecture enter dpkg --print-architecture at the command prompt.

$ dpkg --print-architecture

i386

To display information on the distribution enter cat /etc/issue

$ cat /etc/issue

Debian GNU/Linux 5.0 \n \l

Further information and examples of the repository structure can be found in the Repositories section.

Please be aware that on some Ubuntu distributions it may not be possible to change to the Superuser. In these cases the sudo must be used to preface any commands, entering the root password when prompted.

$ sudo apt-get update
