Monitoring Template Configuration Dialog

The following options are available in the dialog available when adding or editing a Monitoring Template.

Template Name

By default the template uses the designation Template from <DeviceName>, this can be changed to a more meaningful name in the Template Name section.

Active

Once the template is configured as required, tick the Active box to ensure the template is available for selection

Check Frequency

Click Enabled to apply the specified Check Frequency to the Agent when the Monitoring Template is deployed. This option will replace the current settings when applied to an existing Agent.

The time the checks run may be amended via the 24x7 Frequency and DSC Run Time drop-downs.

Prior to Windows Monitoring Agent 10 and Mac Agent 2.1.0 there were only two frequency options per Agent Mode:

From Windows Monitoring Agent 10 onwards the same frequency range is available whether the Agent is installed in Server or Workstations mode:

From Windows Monitoring Agent 10 and Mac Agent 2.1.0 : When selecting five or fifteen-minute monitoring for a Workstation, the Agent synchronizes with the Dashboard every thirty minutes to upload results, retrieve Automated Task and feature deployment settings etc. If using the five or fifteen minute frequencies, a comparison is made with its previous result every time a Check runs. Where a change is detected this is immediately reported back to the Dashboard (please note that only the results are uploaded and this does not trigger a full synchronization). If no change is detected, the Check results are uploaded during the next synchronization upload cycle.

The Automated Task schedule is configured when adding or editing the Automated Task

Checks and Tasks

Add

  1. Click Add
  2. Choose Add 24x7 Check, Add DSC Check or Add Automated Task
  3. Configure the Check or Task as required
  4. OK to save

Edit

  1. Highlight the item in the Add Monitoring Template main window
  2. Click Edit to bring up the configuration dialog
  3. Configure the Check or Task as required
  4. OK to save

Delete

  1. Highlight the item in the Add Monitoring Template main window
  2. Click Delete to bring up the confirmation dialog
  3. Enter the password of the account you have logged on to the Dashboard under to confirm deletion
  4. OK to apply
