Various technologies are used to retrieve the Hardware configuration of the device, for example in Windows we use WMI, with the Dashboard displaying information such as the CPU, drives, motherboard version, BIOS version, graphics card installed, network adapters etc as well as any peripherals that were attached at the time of the scan and discoverable.

Any detected modifications to the hardware are indicated by the pencil icon whilst the trash can represents a deletion. Linux and Mac use different hardware naming convention and hierarchy than Windows with this reflected in the Hardware tab for these devices. Where available the Status of the found Hardware is also returned.

In addition to the Asset Tracking Dashboard, the hardware information for each device is also available under the Assets tab when selecting the device when in the Monitoring and Management Dashboard. Click the Hardware button for the required information.

The Modification Report available from the Asset Tracking Dashboard Reports menu provides more detailed information on the history of changes to Windows devices at the Client.
