Windows Monitoring Agent and Settings - including Agent login

Edit Agent Settings - Dashboard

Once the Agent is installed, the Device appears in the Dashboard under the Mixed, Servers or Workstations north pane sections. From here you can Manage Checks and features on the Device as well as edit its settings. Any changes to these settings are communicated down to the Agent the next time the Agent contacts the Dashboard.

To change the Agent settings:

  1. Log into the Dashboard
  2. Right-click the device in the north Servers, Workstations or Mixed pane (or from the Server or Workstation)
  3. Edit Server or Edit Workstation
  4. Go to General Settings
  5. Change settings to meet your requirements
  6. OK to save

Edit Agent Settings - Agent

After installation, you can login to the Agent on the device, alter its configuration settings and change its Checks.

  1. Logon to the device
  2. Open the Agent (search for Advanced Monitoring Agent or go to Start/All Programs/Advanced Monitoring Agent)
  3. Enter the password
  4. OK to login
  5. Pre-Agent 9.8.3: use the password of the user who installed the Agent

    Agent 9.8.3 and later: Enter the Dashboard staff account username and password where prompted. If the device does not have internet access,  use the password of the user who installed the Agent

  6. Change the Advanced Monitoring Agent, 24x7 Checks and Daily Safety Checks settings to meet your requirements
  7. Please note: where User Access Control is enabled on Vista and Server 2008, you may receive the message The requested operation requires elevation when opening the Agent without Windows administrative privileges. To alleviate this issue, go to All Programs, right-click on Advanced Monitoring Agent and Run as Administrator.
