Generate an Alert where the available free space on the file system at the selected mount points drops below the specified threshold figure, percentage or absolute value (Bytes, Mbytes, Gbytes).
The check is configured via the Dashboard:
Add : from the Add Check drop-down go to Add 24x7 Check, File System Space Check
Edit : select the required File System Space Check in the lower pane then from the Checks drop-down Edit Check.
In both cases the Mount volume and Threshold figure can be configured as required, entering OK to save changes.
Where a Check is added or edited the new settings are downloaded to the Agent the next time it communicates back to the Dashboard and applied when the Check runs after that.
Delete : select the required File System Space Check in the lower pane then from the Checks drop-down Delete. Enter the password of the user you have logged on to the Dashboard under to confirm deletion.
File System Space Check configuration examples:
Alert Threshold: 25%
An Alert is generated and a failure displayed on the Dashboard when the free space remaining falls below 25%
Alert Threshold: 5GB
An Alert is generated and a failure displayed on the Dashboard when the free space remaining falls below 5GB
Once uploaded to the Dashboard the More Information column containing the Total and Free space values reported by the Check, whilst clicking on this link opens the More Information... dialog.
This dialog includes the overall file system Capacity, the Used space and Free space values along with a graphical representation of this information; the Space percentage is displayed when hovering over the Free space or Used space portion of the graph.
