Manually start a backup job

Perform a backup manually rather than waiting for the scheduled start time. The SolarWinds Backup Profile includes a schedule for regular backup jobs on a device. You can run a job manually, outside of the regular schedule, if the device requires an immediate backup because new software was installed or important information needs to be securely retained.

  1. Click Configuration > Backup ManagerMSP BackupDashboard.
  2. Click the gear icon next to the device and click Launch Backup Manager.
  3. In the pop-up window, click the Backup tab.
  4. Click Run Backup.

The backup will begin at the specified time set in the schedule. If you used the defaults, the backup begins immediately. The time to backup a device will vary depending on the device's resources, the amount of data, and the backup type.
