Update monitoring software on a device

Update agent and Backup Manager monitoring software installed on devices.

After SolarWinds N-central is upgraded, the SolarWinds N-central server compares the monitoring software version last reported by the device to the latest version available on the server. If the versions are different, the SolarWinds N-central server sends an update to the remote device that will replace the existing monitoring software with the updated version.

Monitoring software may not be updated on devices that are unable to communicate with the SolarWinds N-central server. Communication issues will need to be resolved before monitoring software updates can take place.

  1. Click ViewsAll Devices.
  2. Select the check box beside the Name of the devices you want to update.
  3. Click Update Monitoring Software.
  4. For the Agent or Arcserve Backup drop-down menus, select what you want SolarWinds N-central to do when it detects a difference in software versions.
  5. Click Save.
