Monitor Devices in Console

Viewing Devices

Users of all roles can view devices in the Console with Continuity plans enabled. They appear as regular Backup Manager devices in the Device management module and can be filtered by:

  1. Click the Columns dropdown
  2. Search for and tick Continuity Enabled
  3. Click Save
  4. Using the Select filter dropdown, filter by Continuity
  5. In the new filter box for Continuity, tick enabled

Accessing domain properties

As with any normal device, when you click on the devices name, you will see the Device Properties dialogue which will give you details of the backup device, including the backup and restore history for the device and any errors.

With the Continuity feature, the Modification tab will display an entry to advise what Continuity plan is assigned to the device.

If no plan is assigned to the device, this entry will not be displayed

View Disaster Ready Testing results and check screenshots

To view statistics of the Disaster Ready Testing and check the screenshots to ensure this has been successful, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Click the Columns dropdown
  2. Search for and tick:
    • Continuity Enabled
    • Virtual Disaster Recovery data session verification details (restore)
    • Virtual Disaster Recovery data timestamp of the latest completed session (restore)
  3. Click Save
  4. Using the Select filter dropdown, filter by Continuity
  5. In the new filter box for Continuity, tick enabled
  6. You will now see the three extra columns appear to the right hand side of the devices table
  7. Where a plan has been successful, you will see Verification result in the VDR Verification (restore) column, click this. This will take you in to the Device Properties dialogue, but you will now see a new tab; the VDR Session Verification tab.

    In the VDR Session Verification tab you will see the screenshot taken from the virtual machine during the boot phase of Disaster Ready Testing.

    This screenshot will expire after 2 weeks, so don't worry if the tab doesn't show a screenshot when the last session was outwith this time.

    In this tab, you will also see information on the device, such as system uptime, when the session was last recovered, services that were stopped in order to perform the recovery and system log information.
